Movie magic

Seeing Toy Story 3 at the movies and catching Storm Boy on the box (thanks to Beth at BabyMac) over the weekend had me thinking about all those films I have grown to love over the years. One of my favourite things to do with my girls is snuggle down to watch a movie with them, watching them as they stare at the screen in wonder.

I have a whole treasure trove of classics that I can't wait to share with them as they get older.

I started thinking about the movies I loved as a kid and came up with a few of my favourites:

Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory

Raggedy Ann and Andy

Bedknobs and Broomsticks

The Sound of Music

Anne of Green Gables

The Parent Trap

National Velvet

What were your favourite movies as a kid?

  1. I don't know about the last two but the rest are all my favvies too. Bubbalug's fav is Mary Poppins, and I was just talking about Annie to my mum the other day saying how much Muffin would like it. I have to get it.

Lets see what else.. The land before time (first one, Wizard of Oz arh ive gone blank now :)

    The sunn'l come ouut, tommorrow..

  2. Love, love, love Will WOnka, Parent Trap and Anne of Green Gables especially.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane. :)

  3. What a great list!! My favorites as a kid were The Wizard of Oz and The Sound of Music.

  4. You forgot the Wizard of Oz! Well that was one of my favourites anyway. I had almost all the same as well as The Labyrinth, Willow, Goonies, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Mary Poppins - the list is ENDLESS. The best bit is being able to share them with Daisy and rediscover the magic all over again!

  5. Oooooo many favourites of mine here too!!! Funny as andrew and I were talking about some of our combined favs like bedknobs and broomsticks, robin hood (the cartoon) and singing in the rain, just the other night!!...xx

  6. Gosh this takes me back LOL... lets see my favs were most of the same but also chity chity bang bang, loved Annie my gosh ive gone blank... haha now i will be going through all the old video movies this weekend:-)
